There are going to be friends in your life, who you love dearly, but who would not have much in common outside of their friendships with you.  That is part of life.  In most cases, those differing opinions, and mix-matched personalities can play nice for the sake of a wedding, which, after all, generally means only a handful of days in each other’s company.  But, sometimes it is not so much a case of indifference to one another as it is a deep-seeded dislike of each other.  When you have two friends who really don’t get along – whether there is a good reason for the hard feelings, or not – it can put you in an awkward position, especially if you have your heart set on having both stand at your side during the wedding ceremony.

Are you one of those people who seems to be doomed to crappy photos for the rest of your life?  While we are all self-critical when seeing pictures taken by others, we also want to feel good about the photos taken on our wedding days.  You are undoubtedly feeling the same.  So, we have a few tips to help you make the most of the big day and to get the wedding photos in Lake Tahoe that you so desire.

Very often, shortly after the wedding ceremony is completed, the bride and groom, along with the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and closest relatives, will go off with the photographer for a photoshoot.  This creates a span of time when the guests are in a sort of limbo, between ceremony and formal reception.  In order to fill that time gap, many couples choose to offer drinks and snacks, along with music of some type as entertainment. Offering hor d-oeuvres to tide guests over until dinner is a wonderful option, and can also create a very memorable environment, especially if you have fun with the food.

The number of people choosing not to eat meat products has increased substantially over the past couple of decades.  With more knowledge, cookbooks dedicated to overcoming dietary restrictions, and a better selection at grocery stores, it is easier and healthier to be a vegetarian than ever before. That likely means that at least one person at your wedding reception will refuse meat during the main meal. As a result, many brides and grooms are doing what they can to accommodate vegetarians, and it isn’t as difficult as some believe it to be.  In fact, in some cases, it isn’t even necessary to plan a specifically vegetarian main meal option.

There is a great deal of thrill that comes with accepting a marriage proposal and starting the planning process.  The wedding day will, undoubtedly, be one the most memorable of your entire life, so, of course, you want it to be extremely special, and preferably perfect.  However, in all of your planning excitement, it can be easy to overlook the burden that you are placing on friends and loved ones. The women who you have invited to play a special part in your big day are most definitely happy to be recognized.  They most certainly want to be at your side as you say your vows, however, you have to remember how much expense can go into playing the part of bridesmaid.

If you are like many women in this country, then your mother has a wedding gown that she once wore on her own special day, tucked away in the back of her closet.  Though she may not come out an express the hope to you, there is very likely a piece of her that would really like to see you dressed in the same gown for your wedding.  Of course, you likely had other plans, and don’t really want to wear an out-of-style dress as you walk the aisle before friends and family. Considering all of that, many brides have found that it is possible, and affordable to alter their mothers’ dresses to create modern, gorgeous gowns worthy of a contemporary bride.  That way, the moms get their wish of having the dress worn again, and the daughters are able to walk with pride in a dress of their own creation.

After months of planning, your wedding has come and gone.  The memories will undoubtedly last a lifetime.  But now that you are back from the honeymoon and falling back into a normal rhythm of day-to-day life, you are likely wondering what you are going to do with the wedding dress. These gowns are generally very costly, and if you are like many women, you will have it professional cleaned, stash it in a garment bag, and tuck it away in the back of your closet.  While this is the most common way of handling a gown after a wedding, there are many modern women who have decided that they want the dress to do double duty, instead of collecting dust.
