Weddings

When you are planning a wedding, there are a lot of things that can go wrong or become temporary obstacles.  Once planned, though, you’d hope that everything would go smoothly.  That is not always the case, and you (or someone from your bridal party) might have to have an awkward conversation or two with guests.  The point is, though, that there are some things that guests simply shouldn’t do, and you shouldn’t shy away from a gentle reminder of that fact.

It is not unheard of for a young couple to ask that guests bring their own alcoholic drinks to the wedding reception.  It can be very expensive to provide booze for questions, especially for wedding with two hundred or more guests.  When the budget won’t allow for it, there are three choices:

  1. Have a dry wedding
  2. Include a cash bar
  3. Ask guests to bring their own
While the BYOB option can look attractive at first glance, there are a few things that you must consider.

It can be very difficult to effectively fake a smile for photos, and while we hope that your smile is genuine in most of your Lake Tahoe wedding photos, there will undoubtedly come a time during the big day when you find your face hurts from all of the smiling for photographs.  You may have to fake it a time or two.  Make the smile look as real and as comfortable as possible with these helpful hints.

Bachelorette parties are a great way to celebrate the end of your life as a single person.  They are also a great way to let off steam after months of planning for the big day.  So, you should take the opportunity to spend some time with friends and make it a memorable experience.  If you want to do something different, as opposed to the typical night out on the town, consider the following ideas.

There has been a trend in recent years that has seen the average bride and groom increase in age.  While it was once common practice to marry at twenty-something, many women and men are waiting until they are in their thirties now. There are some downsides to being wed early in life.  The twenties are a period of growth.  This is a time of adaptation.  We learn what it is like to live outside parental control, away from the structure of schooling, and in a world that demands we pay to live.  Adding the pressures of marriage to that can be a great deal to take on.  And, there are times when young couples find themselves growing apart as a result of changing ideals and views of the world.

Nervousness is natural.  In a day and age when divorce is a highly common word, when everyone can point to at least one marriage that did not last until “death do us part”, it is not surprise that brides-to-be would feel more than a little nervous about the transition from single life to marriage.  However, the knowledge that many couples do not make it should not cause you to panic, rather it should be a reminder that this is not easy, for anyone.  This is a goal that you will work together to achieve, and there will be many wonderful rewards along the way.
