3 Ideas to Make Your Wedding Day Easier on Your Guests and Yourself

While a wedding is a joyous, fun, love-filled event, there is no denying that pulling off such a large-scale party can be a bit tricky, and even stressful.  In order to reduce the burden on the guests and yourself, consider the following three internet hacks.

#1. Create a Phone Number List Undoubtedly, you are going to have guests that are just arriving into town the day before- or the day of the wedding, and they will have questions.  Don’t give out your phone number (landline or cell) for this purpose.  You have enough to do.  Ease the burden on yourself by creating a list of names and numbers of those who can answer the questions and ensure that guests arrive at the right place and at the right time.  This might include your parents, bridal party, friends, or extended family members.  This is a great way to get others involved in your big day.

#2. Put a Little Fun in Your Ceremony Program It is not uncommon for brides and grooms to hand out program pamphlets at their wedding ceremonies these days.  Use this tool wisely.  By filling it with little trivia questions about the bride and groom, puzzles, word games, and other such activities, you can keep guests entertained while they wait.  That will alleviate the pressure that you feel regarding the need to hurry, and it will keep everyone else happy as well.  Just don’t forget to hand out pencils or other writing utensils as well!

#3. Turn Guests Into Photographers There can also be long waits between ceremony and reception, while the bridal party is meeting with the photographer for the formal photo shoot.  Keep everyone happy and ensure that you don’t miss ‘perfect picture moments’ by encourage guests to become the photographer.  Make it into a scavenger hunt game, giving each guest a list of photos that he or she must capture before the bride and groom arrive.  The person who does so successfully should be awarded with a price.  Include ideas like “holding hands’, ‘cutest couple’, etc.
