Should You Consider an Early Day Wedding?

In America, it is most common for brides and grooms to tie the knot in the late afternoon or evening.  The ceremony is typically followed by a dinner reception.  However, there is no rule that says that you have to follow the habits of the majority.  There is no reason why you can’t opt to have your wedding earlier in the day.  There are many great reasons to consider doing just that.

Reason #1:Budget! While the demand for wedding venues on Friday and Saturday evenings is extremely high, there are few fewer requests for morning weddings.  It may be possible to secure your favorite venue at a discount because you are willing to wed earlier in the day.

Reason #2: Fantastic Food and Drink Options It’s not just the venue that will cost less when you host a morning wedding.  The food and drink will undoubtedly cost a fraction of what a formal dinner and open bar would.  Breakfast foods are tasty and tend to be very inexpensive – eggs, bagels, toast, pancakes, bacon, sausages, biscuits, muffins, etc.  You can offer a wealth of different options for far less than you would spend on the classic wedding dinner.  Plus, Mimosa and Bloody Mary bars will be pleasing to the eye and to the guests.

Reason #3: Casual Romance Because it is a morning event, your guests will undoubtedly feel less pressure to dress to the nines.  If you are more comfortable in casual clothing than a wedding brunch may be just the thing for you.  Keep the colors light and the clothing casual and you can create a very intimate and romantic affair to remember.

Reason #4: More Intimate Nighttime Gathering If you and your spouse-to-be have large families, wedding brunches can be a great way to work everyone in.  Then, later in the day, you can arrange a second gather for just the few friends and family members that are apt to keep the party going.  This creates a whole day event.

Reason #5: Get the Honeymoon Started Sooner Can’t wait to get away?  Can’t get a lot of vacation time from work?  If you host an early day wedding, it just means that you can get away on that honeymoon sooner and make the most of every moment of your time off.
