Gone but not forgotten: reminiscing the most popular wedding trends of 2020

2020 was a year like no other, especially for the event planning industry. We’ve all made bittersweet memories. We taught ourselves to love staying indoors and gathered the strength to fight a global pandemic. Among all the things that changed this year, wedding trends topped the list. The pandemic was able to stop us from doing everything else but getting hitched! Being wedding planners, we helped a lot of couples get married at lake Tahoe wedding locations– although the planning and execution were different. We saw fewer guests and more precautions. While our clients did not compromise on catering variety and decorations, we made sure that wedding planning is 100% safe while ensuring social distancing.

In this blog, we’re going to review some of the most amazing wedding trends of 2020 that we loved and we’re surely going to use them again in 2021.

Mint & gold

Classy yet vibrant, this latest trend of mint and gold theme is ideal, especially for a beach wedding. The blue hues of the lake and the minty tones come along as an appealing contrast setting. This theme looks extremely fresh and minimalistic. You could go for a mint tablecloth with gold tableware and gold-toned chairs. Calm mint and luxurious looking gold pair up so well that it’ll look like a wedding straight from a fairytale.

Country-side

When you think about a countryside wedding, you’d envision an old rustic barn, green hills and cowboy boots. But the good news is that a countryside wedding is not restricted to a particular geographical location but we can easily recreate it for you even if you’re planning a Lake Tahoe wedding. We will incorporate rustic meets vintage themes for your wedding where the main decor pieces would be a wooden table, golden bulbs, lots of greenery and flowers like a wildflower, sunflower and lavender.

Bohemian

Humble yet eye-catching, a bohemian style wedding will never fail to amaze you. Inspired by nature, this kind of wedding is usually hosted in an open space such as a lake garden or an open farmhouse. The star of this theme is the color palette of the decor that blends in so well with the natural scenery of a garden. There are no rules when it comes to decor. You can mismatch with the decor color theme. You’ll find a lot of cane decorations and vases with real flowers, effortless decor and seating arrangement. The overall vibe of this kind of wedding theme is very subtle, soft and romantic.

Preppy

Fun, flirtatious and full of color, the preppy themed wedding is the combination of bright colors integrated with graphic details. This theme is bright, playful yet sophisticated. You’ll see a lot of peonies., pink blooms and statement centerpieces, ribbons, fancy cake, and a lot of calligraphy!

These were some of the most common wedding themes that made us feel a little better amid the pandemic. In the ruckus of Planning a wedding, don’t forget that the evening is all about the union of two people who love each other. So regardless of the theme, there is always an essence of purity in the ceremony itself.
